Sir Elton John is ready to be read.

"My life has been one helluva roller coaster ride and I’m now ready to tell you my story, in my own words," John tweeted Friday. "My first and only official autobiography will be released October 2019.”

“I can’t wait for you to read it, because it’s the truth,” he says in an accompanying video. “And so many books that’ve been written about me haven’t exactly been truthful. I can’t wait for you to see what I have to say about my life.”

“A multiple Grammy-winning legend and flamboyant superstar, Elton is the most enduringly successful singer/songwriter of all time,” writes a representative for Henry Holt & Co., which will publish the 320-page memoir. “Fans have been eagerly waiting for him to tell his story. Now the wait is (almost) over.”

The 71-year-old gay pop icon is currently out on the road with his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.

"I'm not prone to being a nostalgic person," John teased in a 2016 statement. "I'm often accused of only looking forward to my next gig or creative project. It's come as quite a surprise how cathartic I am finding the process of writing my memoirs. As I look back, I realize what a crazy life I have had the extreme privilege of living."

Taron Egerton plays John in Rocketman, an upcoming biopic. Written by Lee Hall and directed by Dexter Fletcher, the film, in theaters May 31, is described as "an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years."

John, a tireless HIV/AIDS activist, is also working on the Broadway-bound musical The Devil Wears Prada and has written new songs for the upcoming live-action version of The Lion King.

John's still-untitled memoir, now available for pre-order, is out October 15.
