“RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “Assassination of Gianni Versace” Score Major 2018 Emmy Nominations


Come through, Television Academy!

This morning, Thursday, July 12, Samira Wiley (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Ryan Eggold (The Blacklist) announced the nominees for the 70th Annual Emmy Awards.

The Handmaid’s Tale and The Americans were nominated for major categories. The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story was nominated for Outstanding Limited Series, and RuPaul’s Drag Race received 10 nods (and two more for Untucked), including a nomination for Outstanding Reality Competition Series for a second year in a row.

Out actresses Lily Tomlin and Sarah Paulson also received some love from the Television Academy. Tomlin was nominated for her role on Grace & Frankie, and Paulson was nominated for American Horror Story: Cult. Cherry Jones also got a nod for her role on The Handmaid’s Tale.

Netflix’s Queer Eye also received a nomination for Outstanding Structured Reality Program.
