E News is reporting that Elton John will perform at this year’s Emmys which airs Sunday, September 22.

Sir Elton will be paying musical tribute to Liberace. Makes senes since the HBO Liberace biopic is up for 15 Emmy nominations.

This will be the first time Sir Elton has performed at the Emmys and in addition to performing, he’ll also join Michael Douglas and Matt Damon when they present during the show.

We were already looking to forward to this year’s Emmys because Neil Patrick Harris is returning to host for a second time. The Elton booking is gay icing on the cake. But what will he perform? “Candelabra in the Wind”?

The Emmys will air live on CBS on September 22 starting at 8 p.m. ET.
