Teen Boy Humiliated, Brutally Beaten, for Being a “Greedy” Bisexual

The two attackers were reportedly charged with a hate crime but got off with a fine.

A student in England claims he was recently assaulted specifically because he is bisexual, CoventryLive reports.

Two teenage boys both pleaded guilty to the assault and were forced to pay compensation. A Warwickshire Police spokesperson confirms the case was "thoroughly investigated as a hate crime and charged as a hate aggravated crime," but neither attacker received a jail sentence.

The unnamed Nuneaton teen victim was with friends when he was approached by his attackers. According to his mother, one of the boys asked, "'what you hanging round with him for, you do know he is bi.'"

"Then another said, 'Is this right?' and attacked him," his mother says. "Another of them said 'I can’t believe you hit him because he is gay' but one of them said 'I haven’t got a problem with gay people but I have got a problem with greedy bis like him.'"

"They kicked him on the floor, dragged him into a wooded area and attacked him again," she continues. "When he was brought home, I didn’t even recognize him, you could see a trainer mark on his face."

The attackers allegedly threatened to find and kill the beaten teen if he gave their names to the police.

After being treated at the hospital for cuts and bruises, the victim was reportedly haunted by nightmares and wouldn’t leave the house for months. "I found him huddled with his hands over his head," his mother says. "He became a recluse, he just stayed in the house, he was too frightened to go anywhere."

She also says the family has since been forced to move away from Nuneaton, explaining, "I couldn’t risk him bumping into them again.”

“I feel let down, I feel like no one did their jobs properly because, if they did, one of them would be in jail,” the boy says of his disappointment in the justice system. “They attacked me because I am bisexual, what happened has changed my life, it has made me constantly look over my back.”

“He just wants to stop any other kids going through what he has been through,” his mother adds.
