Steven Klein Shoots Equinox's Provocative New Ad Campaign

"Commit to something."

Superstar fashion photographer Steven Klein has delivered some racy imagery in his new campaign for Equinox, the upscale health club chain.

With the slogan "Commit to something," the photos depict provocative tableaux, like an underwear clad man rolling in dollar bills, a woman (heiress Lydia Hearst) breastfeeding in public, MMA fighter Alan Jouban as a male cheerleader, and models sprawled out half-naked on a bed, among others.

"[Commitment] takes shape in different ways for different people," a rep from W+K, the agency commissioned to execute the campaign, told AdWeek.

"Committing to a cause. Committing to a belief. Committing to pursuing the almighty dollar. Or even committing to multiple sex partners. The more we stretched the definition, the more interesting the campaign got."

Equinox CMO Carlos Becil says the concept of commitment is "bold, incredibly powerful and real, especially in a world today where commitment is lacking."

It's not the first risque campaign the gym has commissioned, either: Its 2014 slogan, "Equinox made me do it," depicted models in a variety of compromising positions.
