Equinox Teams Up With Laverne Cox, Artist David Flores To Celebrate Pride While Benefitting LGBTs Globally
Equinox has erected three Pride murals by artist David Flores in New York, London and San Francisco, and will donate $1 to LGBT charities benefiting those cities each time someone posts them on social media using the hashtag #PoweredByPride.
Said Flores: "Art is most powerful when delivering a social message. As an artist, I am a big supporter of self-expression and the LGBTQA community. Everyone deserves to be proud of who they are."
And no one is more proud than the campaign's ambassador Laverne Cox! "Pride for me is about living authentically, having the courage and power to stand tall spiritually, emotionally and physically in my truth," she wrote on Instagram. "Join me by sharing what pride means to you, and visiting the @Equinox mural in Williamsburg to share a kiss in support of universal love!’"
Posts featuring Flores' murals in New York and San Francisco will benefit the Hetrick Martin Institute, a nonprofit that advocates for the needs of LGBT youth across America. Posts featuring Flores' mural in London will benefit Pilion Trust, an organization which does the same in the UK.
You can find Equinox's #PoweredByPride mural in New York City at N. 13th and Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg from June 15-July 13, in San Francisco at 923 Market St. from June 15-July 13, and in London on Berwick St. from June 21-July 4.
