Male Dancers Strike A Sensuous Pose In Nir Arieli's "Inframen" Series: PHOTOS

Inframen

A series of black-and-white portraits by Israeli photographer Nir Arieli, "Inframen" focuses on the nubile bodies and expressive faces of male dancers. While they possess an ethereal quality, there's no denying their physicality, either. "The dancers, with their calloused exterior and sensitive character, represent the tenuous relationship between the strength of the body and the fragility of the soul," Arieli, who began his career as a military photographer.

"Inframen" is on view through March 8 at Daniel Cooney in New York.
