Acclaimed Drag Musical "Everybody's Talking About Jamie" Heading To London's West End

"I'm a hit and you don't even know it."

If you are longing for another drag queen musical since Priscilla, Queen of the Desert rode its bus off into the sunset, maybe you should look to London for your next theater obsession.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie is a new musical based on the 2011 BBC television documentary Jamie: Drag Queen At 16. The doc followed Jamie Campbell, a teenage boy from a small former mining village, who comes out as gay and wants to go to his school prom in drag.

The score for the musical is by Dan Gillespie Sells, the out lead singer of British rock band The Feeling with a book by Tom MacRae and direction by Jonathan Butterell.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie had a sold-out run at Sheffield Theatres in the U.K. earlier this year and will transfer to London's West End with opening night scheduled for November 22.

A cast album is already available and if you were a fan of The Feeling its infectious music should be right up your alley.

The opening song, "Don't Even Know It," is a poppy earworm and luckily the number was filmed so if you aren't planning a visit to London you can still get a taste of what the show looks like.

Hopefully Everybody's Talking About Jamie will be a smash success on the West End and will eventually make its way stateside like other popular U.K. theater imports like Billy Elliott and next year's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Head on over to the show's website for more info and to buy tickets if you happen to be making a trip to London later this year.
