Famed Gay Paris Nightclub Le Queen Is Reopening

One of the wildest sights on the Champs-Élysées is back!

Starting in the 1990s, Le Queen was one of the most iconic nightclubs in Paris—thanks in no small part to its location on the famed avenue des Champs-Élysées.

It began as a gay club, taking over the space previously inhabited by Le Central, and became a regular name for DJs like David Guetta (who had a residency), Daft Punk, Offer Nissim and Paul Van Dyk.

DJ Dimitri from Paris' weekly party, Paris Is Burning garnered a massive following and led to the club transitioning into a more hetero venue.

Le Queen closed earlier this year, but was purchased in March for $77 million by Thor Equities. The real estate developers, who own half of New York, will likely turn it into a retail space.

But Page Six reports Le Queen will return in September—across the street from its original location. François Frossard, who designed Story and LIV plus restaurants, giving the club a upgrade with mirrored walls and LED lighting.

The owners hope to lure back top DJs, and entertain the crowds with topless dancers straddling on disco balls  suspended from the ceiling s.

Whether those dancers will be hommes or femmes we're not sure yet.
