Fan Proposes To His Boyfriend Onstage At Jess Glynne Concert

Flashmob proposals are SO 2014.

Lewis Nicholls, 22, always knew he'd propose to his boyfriend Darren Mitchell in a public way, so when the opportunity to do it in front of thousands at Michell's favorite singer's concert arose, he jumped at the chance.

Nicholls decided on a whim to email Glynne's management team about the idea and was floored when he received word that the "Rather Be" singer was totally game.

"He loves Jess Glynne, I just wanted to give him a moment, when her management replied saying that Jess really wanted to let me do it I was shocked and thought I've actually got to do this now."

On the day of the concert in the couple's home of Cornwall, Nicholls "surprised" Mitchell with better seats near the front of the packed house, where they were eventually plucked out of the crowd for a quick "dance" with the Grammy award-winning artist.

As the two walked on stage, Glynne announced that the pair was going to have a little "moment." Nicholls then dove into a prepared speech in which he told Mitchell that their relationship had made him the "happiest he's ever been," before dropping down to one knee and slipping a ring on his finger.

"It was one of the best moments of our lives," Nicholls told the Plymouth Herald.

"In Cornwall sometimes you get a bit embarrassed holding hands and stuff in public, I don't know if there's a bit of stigma, but I just thought stuff it, I'm not bothered at all because I love him and I wanted to show that off in front of everyone."

Nicholls went on to say that the newly-engaged couple has received nothing but love and support from their family, friends and strangers who watched the video of their proposal online. He added that Glynne has even offered to sing at their wedding.

When asked how the big day could ever top this epic proposal, he replied, "I have been thinking about this, I don't know, I'll have to message the Queen to see if we can use Buckingham Palace."
