Following up last year's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the sequel sees dark wizard Gellert Gridelwald (Johnny Depp) gathering forces across Europe, with only Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and the Magical Congress to stand in his way.

It also features the debut of young Albus Dumbledore, played by Jude Law.

Crimes Of Grindelwald marks the first appearance of Hogwarts' future headmaster since author J.K. Rowling revealed the character was canonically gay.

The photo also introduces several new characters to the franchise, including creepy Credence (Ezra Miller), the cursed Maledictus (Claudia Kim), and Leta LeStrange (Zoë Kravitz), Newt's childhood best friend now engaged to his older brother Theseus (Calum Turner).

Speaking of broken hearts, Rowling previously Dumbledore had romantic feelings for Grindelwald, dating back to when they were children in Godric’s Hollow back in the 1890s. Whether he can get over Depp's bizarre visage and hairdo is another matter.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald arrives in theaters November 16, 2018.
