Farley Granger comes out (officially)

Rumors about Granger's sexuality have swirled for decades, especially since he appeared in several documentaries discussing gay characters and themes in Hollywood pictures. Laurents in particular wrote about his four-year affair with Granger (Laurents wrote Granger's role in Rope especially for him), so most people assumed that Granger was gay -- it turns out that he is bisexual and speaks openly about it in his book.

Granger follows in the footsteps of Richard Chamberlain, who recently came out after a successful career as a leading man (Chamberlain also recommended that young gay Hollywood stay in the closet, for their careers' sakes -- no word on whether Granger gives out similar advice).
