Hell. Yes. NYC’s Fashion Week burst out of the gates tonight, thanks to this lady right here…
Fashion Week has begun in NYC, and Thursday night saw big shindigs celebrating Project Runway-darling Christian Siriano‘s Payless shoe show, and his big dress-filled show (with gaylebrities like Alan Cumming and singer Sia in the front row), big Chanel parties with gay music studs like Kele from Bloc Party, and Jessica Simpson getting revealed as the big celeb guest judge for the Project Runway finale shows.
Of course, all that got blown out of the water by Richie Rich (formerly one-half of Heatherette) and his deliciously delirious and drama-filled show. The big finish: None other than TV talk queen/comic lesbian legend Ellen DeGenres arriving onstage amid a mushroom cloud of confetti, clad in a silver suit (with a very Ongina-esque little hat strapped to her noggin). Richie Rich regular Tinsley Mortimer also pranced down the runway, along with skinny model girls in silly outfits, often flanked by hot lanky boys in even siller man-ties and little jock-strappy togs.
But the best of all? RuPaul’s Drag Race and RuPaul’s Drag U superstar Jujubee who completely ruled the runway in a sexy black hooker-gone-punk number. All those trips up and down Ru’s runway finally paid off as the diva served up more charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent than Lincoln Center could handle. Attagirl, Miss Juju!!!!
