Feast Your Peepers On The Trailer For Tim Burton's "Big Eyes": WATCH

You might not know who Margaret Keane is, but you've probably seen her work: Paintings of adorable children with larger-than-life eyes that seem to contain the sadness of the entire universe. But while Margaret created these iconic images in the 1950s and '60s, her husband, Walter Keane, took all the credit—claiming the public wouldn't buy art created by a woman.

Tim Burton is bringing the Keanes' true story to the big screen with his latest drama, Big Eyes, starring Amy Adams as Margaret and Christoph Waltz as Walter.

Co-starring Jason Schwartzman, Krysten Ritter, Terence Stamp and Danny Huston, it's less fantastical than some of Burton's other efforts, but the trailer (below) suggests he hasn't given up his surreal style completely.

We just hope this doesn't get in the way of the long-rumored Beetlejuice sequel.

Watch the trailer for Big Eyes, out December 25, below.
