Fiorious Imagines a Bacchanalian "Future Romance" in New Music Video

If you liked Harry Styles' "Lights Up," you'll love this lusty video from the New York–based gay house artist.

Perhaps no concept is as intrinsic to the queer community as sexual freedom. It's a liberation like no other—and exactly what gay dance artist Fiorious channels in his latest song, "Future Romance."

The soulful house track's sexy new music video—complete with stunning, highly saturated visual sequences shot in Milan—imagines a surreal, orgiastic queer nightclub where shame and fear aren't on the guest list. There's no judgment here, no fantasy off-limits. Think of the clip for Harry Styles' recent single "Lights Up," but with explicit nods to queer sex and BDSM culture.

"Future Romance" is Fiorious' follow-up to his rousing single "I'm Not Defeated," which became an international hit when it dropped during Pride 2019 (Chicago house royalty Honey Dijon gave it a masterful rework that's become a staple at clubs in Ibiza).

The new song was inspired by "some of the most amazing and debaucherous parties I've been to in Berlin or Brooklyn," says the New York City–based artist. "These safe spaces are still so important for LGBTQIA+ folks, and also within the history of dance music as a place to hear the most vital and adventurous house and techno. So it's crucial that these parties continue to thrive."

The music video, directed by Samuel Douek and produced by Eurocrash, is also part of "a visual story arc," and one of four tracks that highlight the major themes of Revisionary, Fiorious' forthcoming debut album.
