South by Southwest, the famous annual music, tech, film and fashion gathering in Austin, TX, is set to feature a completely queer style panel for the first time in its 19 year history.
New York based dapperQ, the self-proclaimed definitive style guide for queer and genderless fashion, will present the first ever queer-centric style panel during SxSW’s SXstyle event.
The panel, entitled “Queer Style: Visual Activism & Fashion’s Frontier,” will examine the different ways in which popular brands, such as H&M and Zara, have experimented with queerness in their fashion design.
From the panel’s webpage: “dapperQ…will host a panel that will explore queer style as an enigmatic art form that is the new fashion frontier and examine queer style as visual activism that creates positive social change.”
Panelists will include Anita Dolce Vita of dapperQ, Sonny Oram of Qwear, Leon Wu of Sharpe Suiting, and Aja Aguirre of Fit for a Femme.
