Nickelodeon Movies has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie—and we have to say, for a Michael Bay flick, there are surprisingly few explosions. There are lots of chases and reaction shots, though, and a quartet of super-amphibians that look more human than their 80s cartoon predecessor.

While we're not exactly living for Megan Fox as gutsy reporter April O'Neil, we do love the idea of William Fichtner as Shredder. And thank God Bay stepped away from his original idea of having the Turtles be aliens who crash-landed on Earth.

The new origin suggests Shredder and April's father created the radioactive ooze that transformed four tepid terrapins into Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael.
