Anti-LGBT pastor Flip Benham, who earlier this month crashed a Charlotte city council meeting to scream that the the city's streets would soon run with blood over the issue of transgender rights, attempted to interrupt this weekend's Charlotte Pride march by yelling obscenities into a loudspeaker in a parking lot adjacent to the event.

Benham started off his rant by declaring that "Jesus Christ made America free."

"Where the spirit of the lord is, there is liberty," he added. "Jesus gave us this freedom and we are throwing it and flushing it down the toilet."

His most ridiculous statement, though, came near the end of his speech as a large muscular man began pacing in front of him while holding a bible over his head.

"My friends, stop celebrating sodomy!," he implored the small crowd gathered around his car. "How is it that when a man puts his penis up another man's rectum that is somehow called a good thing?"

If only he knew.

In spite of his protests, local news sources reported that this year's Pride was Charlotte's biggest yet, with dozens of faith groups coming out to support the LGBT community.
