Florida Pastor Opposes Equal Rights Ordinance By Photoshopping Pro-LGBT Politician Into Porn Pics

This from the man who dresses in drag in his spare time.

Jacksonville, Florida city Councilman Tommy Hazouri is considering taking legal action against a virulently anti-gay local pastor trying to defame him with gay porn pictures on Twitter.

Hazouri is one of several politicians currently supporting the city's move to update a Human Rights Ordinance that would extend non-discrimination protections to LGBT people in areas in areas like housing, employment, and public accommodations.

Though he's receiving criticism from a number of anti-gay local influencers and organizations, the most inflammatory attacks have come from Pastor Kenneth Adkins, a man who recently tweeted photos of himself wearing wigs to show his opposition to legislation that would allow transgender people to use restrooms that match their gender identity.

Like those who opposed Houston's recent HERO bill, Adkins claims equal protections for LGBT people would make it easier for sexual predators to prey on children in restrooms.

In January, he tweeted a salacious image including Councilman Hazouri's face Photoshopped on a gay porn actor.

Adkins wrote: "Giving civil rights to men who have sex with other men! This is what Jacksonville City Councilman Tommy Hazouri has reduced our Jacksonville elected officials to! He is nasty, just plain nasty."

In other tweets, Adkins has said Jacksonville's expanded HRO aims to give "civil rights to men who engage in anal sex with each other."

And the incendiary tweets continued:

"I think as a pastor -- homosexuality, that's vulgar and that's pornographic, and the whole thought of it," Adkins tweeted at people outraged by the images. "It is, I believe, a war and attack against the church, and I think sometimes you have to use measures to get your point across, and that's exactly what I'm doing, and I stand behind it 150 percent."

Speaking with CBS 47, Hazouri said, "This issue is much bigger than the pornographic material that (Adkins) is putting out there, and I will be speaking with our general counsel."

The first meeting discussing Jacksonville's HRO, which Adkins will attend, takes place today from 3-6pm. Two more meetings will Thursday, February 18 and Thursday, March 3.
