The "Empire" Concert Tour Needs To Happen
What's Fox to do with a show that's exploded on the scene, à la early Glee? Keep it in the Glee tradition and send the cast out on tour!
That might be the destiny for Hakeem, Jamal, Tiana and the rest of the Empire cast. According to Entertainment Weekly, the network is considering a concert tour connected to the Lee Daniels-produced series.
“We are thinking about what the future is of the brand,” explains Dana Walden, co-chair of Fox Television Group. “What we learned on Glee... is be very cognizant that the music business is the tail of this dog—the show is the thing. But we are certainly looking down the line. There’s no reason not to think of having all sorts of ancillary opportunities with this show."
We know Cookie is not technically a singer, but as the manager of three of the fictional label's biggest artists, we're going to need her one that stage. Just imagine the costume changes.
