Leslie Jordan Stars In New Fox Comedy “The Cool Kids”

The sitcom centers around a group of friends living in a retirement community and their hijinks.

If you ever thought that Will & Grace character Beverly Leslie needed his own sitcom, your dreams are about to somewhat come true.

From executive producer Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), The Cool Kids centers on a group of friends living in a retirement community who are
willing to push the boundaries and break the rules because, at their age, why not. Comedy legends Vicki Lawrence (Mama’s Family), David Alan Grier (The Carmichael Show), and Martin Mull (Roseanne) round out the all-star cast.

Hank (Grier) is the leader of this crew and will go to any lengths to have a good time. His loyal, but less than helpful, friends include Charlie (Mull), a bumbling storyteller who constantly goes off on tangents about some bizarre, barely believable episode from his life, Jordan stars as Sid, a naysaying, pill-popping hypochondriac who shoots down every scheme, but still gets roped in. And Lawrence plays Margaret, a brash, confident woman who forces her way into the group and refuses to leave. Together, they are all committed to living out their best lives despite growing old.

The Cool Kids premieres on Fox this fall on Friday nights.

Lamar Dawson is a pop culture junkie living in Manhattan.
