Frank Ocean's Dad Is Suing Him For Claiming He Used A Gay Slur

Calvin Cooksey is suing his son for $14 million.

Frank Ocean's being sued by his father who says his son damaged his reputation when he called him out for being a bigot.

Calvin Cooksey is filing the suit in response to a Tumblr post the Grammy Award-winning artist wrote in the wake of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub. In the post, the singer accused his dad of using a homophobic slur around him when he was a kid.

"I was 6 years old when I heard my dad call our transgender waitress a f*ggot as he dragged me out of a neighborhood diner saying we wouldn't be served because she was dirty," the Blonde singer wrote.

Cooksey says the story's made up and is making it difficult for him to secure financial backing for his film and music projects. His name's been smeared so badly, he alleges, that he's seeking $14.5 million in damages.

In 2014, Cooksey sued Russell Simmons after the latter claimed he was a deadbeat dad. That suit was for nearly $142 million.
