Fresh off the bromance of the summer on Big Brother, Frankie Grande has landed a spot on Broadway: This week he stepped into the role of Franz in the longrunning jukebox musical, Rock of Ages.
In the show, Franz starts out as a developer keen on demolishing the The Bourbon Room, but he falls for city planner Regina and has a change of heart. “I’ve always loved Franz’s quirky lust for life and new things,” Grande, 31, told the New York Times.“Everything is new and shiny and pretty to him.”
It's not the first time Grande, half-brother to pop queen Ariana Grande, has auditioned for the role. “They told me I wasn’t the right look—for a while, all the Franzes became tall, skinny and bean-pole-like. Finally, the timing was right.”
Grande will be in the role through January 18, 2015. Another reality TV veteran, American Idol Constantine Maroulis, returned to the role that earned him a Tony, Drew, this summer, and will also remain in the show through January 18.
