“Friends” Creator Marta Kauffman Joins Creative Team For “The Gilded Razor”

The show will adapt gay author Sam Lansky's memoir for the small screen.

Marta Kauffman (Friends, Veronica’s Closet, Grace and Frankie) is bringing her expertise to The Gilded Razor, based on Sam Lansky’s memoir about his privileged upbringing, and affairs with older men, and kicking his addiction to prescription pills by going to a wilderness boot camp in Utah.

The show, called The Walk Out of Ruin, is an hourlong drama about a group of troubled teens forcibly put in a wilderness therapy program for at-risk youth. Kauffman will join Nate Berkus, already working on bringing the book to the small screen, along with former OWN co-president Sheri Salata.

“Marta Kauffman is a legend in the business, and we are honored to partner with her,” Berkus told The Hollywood Reporter. “We are thrilled by her vision for The Walk Out of Ruin.”
