Moonrise Kingdom, the new film from Wes Anderson, opens this Friday, and we can’t wait to see it. Starring Ed Norton, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel and virtually everyone who’s ever appeared in an Anderson film, Kingdom is Anderson’s latest stab at a coming-of-age film. It follows pre-teen Sam and Suzy as they run away to be together, and the aftermath, as their community attempts to find them.
While some people find Anderson films altogether too precious and cloying, there’s no denying that he’s certainly cultivated a distinctive look and feel to his movies. It extends to the stars he casts, the sets and scenery that frame the stories he writes, and is definitely reflected in the sartorial choices his characters make. Whether its the uniforms for Team Zissou in The Life Aquatic or the impossibly nerdy looks in Rushmore, Anderson’s made his mark.
We’ve selected some of our favorite looks from past Wes Anderson movies — what’s yours?
