The season finale of Game of Thrones is just hours away, and while many may still be reeling from the events of last week's dramatic episode, those who have actually read George R. R. Martin's A Storm of Swords, the third book in the series on which the current season is based, are no doubt puzzled, and confused, about the fact that none of the novel's dramatic events, and trust us kids, last week is nothing compared to what goes down, have wound up on screen this season.

It's just like Mad Men!

Mad Men is, of course, great. (Just ask any pretentious boob you know!) But the Jon Hamm jam moves at a glacial pace. Glacial. Game of Thrones, meanwhile, is based on a set of novels that constantly has every major character getting slaughtered, or worse, every few pages (Especially in Storm of Swords),  and yet this season has been moving along at that aforementioned Man Men glacial pace.

We realize that the producers have been very clear about their desire to split the third book in the series into two seasons, but could we have at least got a bit more of the good stuff?

Let's just hope we get some Lady Stoneheart action tonight.
