“Take me to your leader.”

“Science fiction and fantasy has always had a significant gay following,” said Edward deGruy, a spokesman for OutlantaCon, in a news release. “But until recently, the genre has had very few, if any, gay characters. In the past few years, we have seen not only more diversity in supporting and lead roles in film and television, but the growth of LGBT-themed sci-fi and fantasy literature as well.”

Sci-fi guests speakers include Cecilia Tan, author of “Women of the Bite: Lesbian Vampire Erotica,” and film director J.A. Steel screening her latest project “Denizen.”

Panels include a discussion at the state of queer comics, ways to improve your game play and delving into why straight women seem to be obsessed by gay paranormal romance.
