Gay Couple Violently Attacked For Kissing In A Miami Burger King

"The clear message we wanna give to visitors...of Miami...is there is no place for hate here."

A Miami Burger King became the site of a violent hate crime two weeks ago, when a gay couple was attacked for kissing in front of other customers.

Surveillance footage of the attack was just released to the public and shows the assailant, in a dark shirt and shorts, flying at the victim after seeing him kiss his partner. He slams the gay man to the ground, kicking and punching him before moving to fully pin him to the floor.

A Man in a long-sleeved gray shirt held back onlookers, many of whom attempted to step in and break up the fight, including the victim's boyfriend.

CBS Miami reports that the attacker was clearly trained in some form of martial arts, which he used to brutalize the victim for over a minute.

Miami police officer Ernesto Rodriguez told reporters that authorities are on the lookout for the man who is still at large, adding that “The clear message we wanna give to visitors and residents of Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County for that matter is there is no place for hate here."

The victim and his boyfriend have retained the services of a local lawyer and plan to pursue the matter in court as a hate crime.
