Gay Dads Post Adorable Pic In Bed With Their Baby And It's Going Viral
Many same-sex couples have to fight to prove themselves worthy of being parents, so it was great news when a picture of two dads in bed with their baby received a plethora of praise after it started being spread like wildfire across the internet.
Fathers Joshua and Jeremy snapped a family selfie while in bed with their 9-month-old son Anakin after a long day at Disney World, and the baby's peaceful pose has since taken over social media.
Gays With Kids, a site dedicated to helping same-sex couples navigate parenthood, shared the photo on their Instagram page, where it became their most liked upload ever.
Positive comments came pouring in under the post, with people thanking them for being great examples of gay parents and for "your hope you give to the world."
The Salt Lake City-based dads, who also has a two-month-old daughter named Izley, say they were thrilled with the response to the photo and hope it helps show that it's ultimately love that makes up a family.
"Hopefully people see this photo as hope that they, too, can strive for the dream we once dreamed, and make it a reality," they told Gays With Kids. "We never thought it could happen, let alone have two wonderful kids. It's a new challenge but an amazing opportunity."
