Conservative gay businessman Ivan Massow is running for mayor of London, and the promotional video announcing his bid is anything but subtle.

"I'm Ivan and I want to be your mayor of London," the 47-year-old booms in the clip. "I’m gay, I’m an ex-alcoholic, I’m dyslexic, I’m adopted, I’m an activist, I’m a businessman, I’m a disruptor, I’m a doer. I’m not your typical ‘politician’ politician."

Massow, who said he stopped drinking after an intervention from Joan Collins, isn't giving his opponents the opportunity to dig up dirt—he wanted his introduction video to be an "honest, warts-and-all" portrayal of him.

"I believe London needs someone who understands the issues normal people face." In the video, he says he is "someone who takes the tube, someone who hates sitting in traffic, someone who hates red tape, someone who hates politics as normal."

Massow resigned from the Conservative party in 2000 because he didn't agree with its "1950s mindset." He plans on spending a "significant" amount of money pushing the video on Facebook and Twitter, and is encouraging Londoners to tell him what they want from a London mayor on social media with the #TellIvan hashtag.
