In a scene you'd think was ripped straight from an upcoming Cucumber or Banana episode, a man was seen walking naked through the gay section of Manchester last week after his clothes had been stolen by the man he was hooking up with near the river.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the man met his clothes thief in a bar before the two left together and wound up on the towpath near Canal Street in the city center.

That's where the man removed his clothes willingly, including his suit and underwear, and left them in a pile near the river along with his wallet, phone, and keys. (Never do this, guys!) His suitor, a man described as white between 20-25 years old and wearing a black tracksuit, immediately stole the man's clothes and possessions and fled.

Police were notified of the incident by callers to 999, who reported seeing the naked man strolling along the towpath.

GMP city centre inspector Phil Spurgeon framed the story as a cautionary tale, saying "This isn't about blaming the victim, it's a reminder to be aware of your surroundings and thinning about putting yourself in an obviously vulnerable position."

Or, it's just about knowing where not to remove every shred of clothing you're wearing.
