Mother Nature May Be Gayer and Sassier Than You Thought

"Fog exists only for ambiance, and lightning never wears the same outfit twice."

Hasn't it been raining men for years?

You don't have to leave the comforts of your home to enjoy Gay Nature, a cheeky new online micro docu-series written and directed by comedy video creator Michael Fails (IFC, Adult Swim, Sisters Weekend) and comedian Max Wittert (HBO's High Maintenance, So Fashionating podcast).

Narrated by Xalvador Tin-Bradbury (Scruff live game show Hosting), Gay Nature skewers classic nature docs like Planet Earth, teaching the fundamental lesson that Mama Nature is one queer and fickle bitch.

"Nature is an LGBTQ icon because hot springs are naturally occurring jacuzzis. People forget that," Fails and Wittert tell NewNowNext. "Fog exists only for ambiance, and lightning never wears the same outfit twice. People forget that. Also, anthropomorphizing beautiful things is an intrinsically gay action. And worshipping has-been stars—like, glaciers for instance—is also very gay."

"The environment is like a totally iconic thing from the past, and we just feel like it never got the attention it deserved," they continue. "So we wanted to really highlight that? I mean, there were trees in Wild Things. If it weren’t for nature, Dawson never would have had a Creek. We just felt like nature needed her moment—especially because she’s almost officially canceled! So we made a docu-series."
