Gay Rapper Sayth Goes Back To The '90s With Retro "Rare Candy" Music Video

Out rapper Sayth (real name Eric Wells) takes us back to the '80s with his new music video for "Rare Candy," featuring low-res visuals and Game Boy music that take us right back to the late '80s/early '90s.

"Rare Candy" finds Sayth reflecting on his own mortality through the crushingly mundane aspects of every day life.

Sayth, who hails from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, has no problem making fun of himself, with anecdotes like "One time I swallowed Lean/mixed in some purple green/All I got was a little itchy, then I fell asleep."

The adorable gay nerd factor hits an all time high in a Pokemon-inspired section: "You can be my Misty, I will be your Ash/Or you can be my Ash, and I can be your Brock/The homoerotic undertones got hard to write off."

Sayth gives a righteous middle finger to anyone who has a problem with gays in hip-hop, singing "Every gay rapper doesn't have to get booed at," then follows with some millennial anxiety: "I'm less worried 'bout killing raps to death/More worried 'bout going into debt."

True that, Sayth.
