Gay Duo Superfruit Serves Fantasy Freshness In “Imaginary Parties” Video

Pentatonix members Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying have summer style to spare.

Superfruit’s summer anthem about living your best life, reality be damned, is ripe and ready for the picking.

Directed by Alon Isocianu, the pop duo’s eye-popping new music video for “Imaginary Parties” shows vocalists Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying turning out a full fashion show of colorful looks in a series of hyper-stylized tableaux. “Baby, let’s get fresh,” they sing. “I know we know how.”

Grassi and Hoying are also founding and current gay members of the Grammy-winning a cappella quintet Pentatonix. “With Superfruit, it’s a little more gay-friendly and a lot more open, more sexual, more liberated,” Grassi recently told Out when comparing the two groups.

“Imaginary Parties” is the latest single from Future Friends, their two-part debut studio album. Future Friends—Part One is available now, with Future Friends—Part Two to follow September 15.

Since the duo formed in 2013, Superfruit’s videos have amassed more than 350 million views.
