Grooms Blow Wedding Guests Away With Choreographed First Dance

"My specialty dance move at weddings is the shoulder shrug."

It's not uncommon for a guy (or girl) to plan an elaborate flashmob when they're popping the question. But newlyweds Spencer Parker and Sean Gannon decided to put on a show together last week at their wedding at Crossed Keyes Estate in Andover, New Jersey.

For their first dance, the guys performed a choreographed routine to Emeli Sandé's "Next to Me."

"We wanted the wedding to be all about our guests," Spencer told NewNowNext.

"We knew that the vows would be for us, but we wanted the wedding to be for everyone else—a chance for us to share our joy with the people who love, support and inspire us."

The couple, who have been together five years, already had a marching band at their ceremony and a flash mob at the reception.

"So we knew we were going to have to do something big to make sure the first dance didn’t get forgotten," says Spencer.

And their friend, choreographer Paul McGill, helped them perfect a dance they could pull off on the big day. Sean is a trained dancer (he's currently getting his Masters in dance education), but Spencer admits he's strictly an amateur.

"Sean is the star of the show—I absolutely love watching him dance."

Still, he insists, "I kept up pretty well... My specialty dance move at weddings is the shoulder shrug."

So far, their wedding dance has been viewed nearly 20,000 times. Spencer says it's a wonderful reminder of their beautiful day and that a gesture love can bring a little magic to anyone's day.

"We also got a lot of responses about how we looked in those tuxes," he adds.
