Gays And Lesbians Battle It Out To Find Out Who Can Better Assemble Ikea Furniture

“We’re about to kick some ass…gay ass.”

Ikea furniture is, by design, a rather simple to-do. It's commonly referred to as the most base form of self-assembling a room. So how do a couple of gays and lesbians do when tasked with putting it together with an hour on the clock? The result may surprise you.

The pervading stereotype seems to paint lesbians as fixer-upper naturals and gay men as... the opposite.

The folks at BuzzFeed decided to test if the stereotype had any basis in reality by tasking "Team Gay Men" and "Team Lesbians" with building a simple shelf unit.

Working through the directions step-by-step (including Step 4: "Working through internalized homophobia," Taylor joked), the teams attempted to complete what seemed at the onset like a simple task.

"I'm trying not to break a sweat, and she's over there bleeding," Curly exclaimed while fanning himself with some loose wood.
