"General Hospital" Nurses Ball Gives Us Male Strippers, But No Gay Wedding

Is there a doctor in the house?

Last week brought us one of the most anticipated events in daytime television: The Nurses Ball on General Hospital, a fictional HIV/AIDS fundraiser for the people of Port Charles.

Every spring, the show films a kitschy variety show—the pinnacle of which is hunky GH stripping on stage in a Magic Mike-inspired revue. This year's crop of cuties included Donnell Turner, Drew Cheetwood, Marc Anthony Samuel, Matt Cohen and Robert Palmer Watkins.

The guys peeled out of their suits until they were left in boxer-briefs spelling “Nurses Ball” on their butts. (Would it have killed them to go for bikini briefs?)

Sadly, one thing we DIDN'T see was the wedding of Lucas and Brad. Instead, we found out Lucas was injected with something intended for his mother, Bobbi, and wound up in critical condition in the hospital.

There has been talk that Lucas (Ryan Carnes) is going to die—not an unusual development on a soap, but it would mean the already meager representation of LGBT characters on daytime would shrink even more. Let's hope those rumors aren't true.
