George Takei Blasts Trump for His Draft Dodging, Veterans Charity Defrauding Ways

Happy Veterans Day!

George Takei has taken the opportunity of Veterans Day to remind the world that President Donald Trump has a less than stellar record when it comes to respecting those who have fought under the American flag.

Takei noted that "our Commander-in-Chief claimed bone spurs to avoid the draft and illegally diverted $2.8mil raised for veterans at a charity fundraiser to his own campaign," adding that vets deserved better "than a cowardly crook."

A New York judge ruled last week that Trump must pay $2 million in damages to settle claims the Trump Foundation diverted over $2.8 million earned from a televised fundraiser from a veterans charity to his campaign, which is against the law.

"The Trump Foundation has shut down, funds that were illegally misused are being restored, the president will be subject to ongoing supervision by my office, and the Trump children had to undergo compulsory training to ensure this type of illegal activity never takes place again," New York Attorney General Letitia James, whose office filed the case, said in a statement.

"The court's decision, together with the settlements we negotiated, are a major victory in our efforts to protect charitable assets and hold accountable those who would abuse charities for personal gain."

"I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump–I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough—until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad," Trump said during a Breitbart interview earlier this year.
