Conservative media-mogul and pedophiliac uncle lookalike Geraldo Rivera tweeted a picture of himself semi-nude in July. Now, he suffers the consequences of his licentious behavior: he has been removed as a speaker from an upcoming panel on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK at Pittsburgh’s Duquesne University.
The July tweet was captioned: “70 is the new 50 (Erica and family are going to be so pissed…but at my age…).” While everyone seemed to laugh and kiki about the aging personality’s leathery skin, it is hard to believe that a fairly innocuous (albeit pretty gross) picture would cost Rivera any work. Dunquesne University claimed that the tweet was “inappropriate and not in line with the school’s values as a Catholic university.”
Rivera retorted with the following tweet:
Although Rivera seemed to be a perfectly suited guest for this speaking gig, considering he was the first to broadcast the infamous Zapruder film, I think it would have been more interesting if he talked about the time he interviewed RuPaul and the club kids.
Between Anthony Weiner’s scandal and that lascivious art gallery exhibition in Brooklyn, the moral of this summer seems to be: do not send naked or semi-naked pictures of yourself to anyone under any circumstances. Just don’t do it.
