In what is without question one of the oddest stories we have heard in quite some time, the German Football Federation has announced they will be sending a pro-gay leaflet to all the 26,000 German football clubs to suggest that closeted LGBT footballers come out.

What the what?

The leaflet, or brochure rather as it is a whooping 28 pages long, contains tips on preventing homophobia both on the field and in everyday situations. And an interview with bisexual footballer Nadine Angerer who says, speaking to any closeted athletes who may be reading said brochure; "I want to tell you to come out, please. It’s really important we respect ourselves."

Obviously this is great and fantastic and all, but this is the weirdest thing ever, right? We still think we're missing part of this story.

Though, Chancellor Angela Merkel did urge a played to come out last year, so maybe the Germans are just very invested in having some gays kicking the ball around.
