Gia Gunn Gives Good Fish in Hilarious Mukbang With Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire

The “Drag Race” alum is joining forces with the famed whiskey maker to celebrate Pride Month.

Gia Gunn is no stranger to fresh tilapia, but did you know she’s never tried sashimi?

The glamorous RuPaul’s Drag Race alum has teamed up with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire and its parent company, Brown-Forman, to give back to the LGBTQ community. In honor of LGBTQ Pride Month, the famed whiskey maker is raising awareness of and financially supporting 16 queer nonprofits across the country facing financial hardships amid the COVID-19 crisis. As NewNowNext previously reported, the pandemic has taken a serious toll on LGBTQ nightlife performers and venues, including popular queer watering holes like Julius’ Bar, Alibi Lounge, and the Stonewall Inn. The widespread cancellation of in-person Pride events has left LGBTQ nonprofits with fewer opportunities to fundraise, too.

Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire

In a new mukbang video for Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire, Gunn chose to chow down on some sushi as a nod to her Japanese-American identity.

“It’s so important to also celebrate people of color and being Asian, especially during this time,” she says in the video. “I’m also looking to give visibility and exposure to my Asian community just as well as the LGBTQ [community].”

Between bites, the proud transgender advocate can also be seen shouting-out four of the 16 organizations receiving support from Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire: Charleston Pride, Trans Lifeline, Trans Wellness Center, and LGBT Detroit.
