Former "Drag Race" Contestant Gia Gunn Comes Out As Trans
In honor of International Transgender Day of Visibility, RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6 contestant Gia Gunn has come out as trans in a personal new Instagram video.
"I thought I would dedicate today in the spirit of being visible to share my transition with all of you," Gunn reveals in the clip. "I have been on hormone replacement therapy for about a year and I identify as female and I am indeed transgender."
She then reached out to her trans fans watching: "Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey... if you are in transition, or struggling with your gender identity, I want to hear from you in the comments and let’s be visible!”
Gia joins other past Drag Race contestants like Sonique, Jiggly Caliente and current Season 9 queen, Peppermint, who have come out as trans .
RuPaul's Drag Race airs Fridays at 8/7c on VH1.
