NEXT VIDEO: 'Girls' Looks Like Best Show Of 2012

If the hope was for Bridesmaids to lead to more female-centric comedy, it’s definitely succeeding with Lena Dunham’s new HBO series, Girls. While it doesn’t premiere until April 2012, the less-than-a-minute teaser trailer shows a whole lot too look forward to -- sex, women talking together about things that aren’t just men and sex, and Dunham declaring her character is “the voice of (her) generation.  Or at least a voice, of a generation.”

It’s nice in the post-Bridesmaids world to get some frank, real anti-hero hero women after so many years of men. The show does however boast one major male producer -- Mr. Judd Apatow.

And, for those who are unfamiliar with Dunham, run out and get her 2010 film Tiny Furniture which also stars two Girls cast members, Dunham's best friend Jemima Kirke and her kid sister Grace Dunham.
