'Glee' Casts Patty Duke and Meredith Baxter As Lesbian Couple (...Plus Who's Proposing?)

Kurt and Blaine episode 1

Suffice it to say, spoiler alert ahead.  First up, according to E! Online, screen legends Patty Duke and Meredith Baxter have been reportedly cast to appear on the Glee season finale (and upcoming seasons) as a long-term committed lesbian couple mentoring (... wait for it) Klaine in their possible impending engagement.

You still breathing?  We're still breathing, we swear. According to sources, Blaine decides he's ready to propose in the season finale and meets Duke and Baxter in the jewelry shop where she's the salesperson.  We know this all reeks of season-ending cliffhanger, and we'll set aside our reservations about Klaine potentially heading down the aisle so young and before they've had time to properly heal from the events of this season -- because for now we're just going to be excited that 'Glee' is telling going to tackle marriage equality at such an important time for America. You can't ignore that, "long term, committed lesbian couple" serving as a mentor is a definite nod to Edie Windsor and Thea Spyer. And casting Oscar-winner Duke and newly-out lesbian Baxter in the roles is just icing on a very gay cake.

Be still our little queer heart.  Klaine wedding and Patty Duke?  Ryan Murphy, are you writing the show just for NewNowNext now?  If so, THANK YOU.
