More ‘Glee’ Deleted Scenes: Santana Comes Out And Rachel And Kurt Get Sappy

Santana comes out.

The reign of Ryan Murphy on Twitter continues, and this time he tried to institute a Hunger Games of fan competition for a new batch of deleted scenes, only to soften and give everybody what they asked for.

After telling Gleeks they had to “vote” on Twitter and “the most passion wins” which scene he’d release he gave gave fans both — Santana’s coming out to the cheer squad and Rachel’s yearbook inscription to Kurt.

Santana’s coming out episode got a lot of flack for taking her agency away in her story about her sexuality, but this missing scene at least allows some of that back when Santana stands up to tell her fellow cheerleaders about her relationship with Britt, and that it doesn’t change the fact taht she’s a natural born leader and she’s “not afraid to cut a bitch.” The most interesting thing that we learn, however, is that Becky and Britt had an affair before Britt met Santana.  Scandal!

Meanwhile, we have Kurt and Rachel and a whole bunch of sappy yet sweet yearbook dedications.  Kurt reads Rachel’s inscription to him aloud, which brings tears to everyone’s eyes.  Among other things she says Kurt taught her to “never apologize for who I am or how I look” and calls him her soulmate. It’s nice to see their friendship as it’s developed on the show, and this is a great bow on their high school years, even if as viewers we now know Kurt and Rachel won’t be at NYADA together (at least not yet) and we’re not even sure how Kurt Hummel will get to NYC.
