Ryan Murphy on Twitter is the gift that keeps on giving! The ‘Glee’ showrunner has released two previously deleted ‘Glee’ scenes in a single Tweet, one spanning all the way back to Season 1.
First up is a vintage Rachel Berry and Jesse St. James, where the two duet to “Hello 12, Hello 13, Hello Love” from the Season 1 episode “Hell-O.” It fits into the canon where Rachel and Jesse would have had their Friday night date, and serves as the lead up sexual tension filled moment before them kissing (which on the show we see in a cutaway.) Our guess is it was cut for because prime time wasn’t ready for Jonathan Groff singing about mom and dad “doing it” while air humping. It would have been nice to see more of Jesse’s real connection and attraction to Rachel in the show before he betrayed her with an egg facial.
We then jump to just this past season, with a missing Warblers scene from the Michael Jackson tribute episode. The boys of Dalton are practicing their “I Want You Back,” led by Sebastian Smythe, who plays the entire song as a come-on to a clearly uncomfortable Blaine (and right in front of a rage-filled Kurt!) We knew Sebastian was a bad guy and a total creep, but these scene takes him to a way more . What did he do to get those sweet Dalton boys to follow him? Does he have blackmail on everybody! Blaine stands his ground and calls his former group unclassy, and when they next meet in the show is when Blaine is notoriously blinded by the tampered slushie. This is not the Dalton we once knew.
We also see more of Sebastian’s interactions with Santana, which come to a head later in the episode with their “Smooth Criminal” face off. Again, Sebastian proves to be more than just your average bully — his attacks on her are both sexual, classist and racist, all at once! All said, we’re hoping Sebastain is back next season because as much as he’s a jerk, he’s a fascinating one.
