'Glee' Star Grant Gustin On Playing Gay

The newest member of the ever growing cast of Glee may be one of the best yet, Grant Gustin who plays the conniving and incredibly sexually confident Sebastian. Not afraid to steal a man from his boyfriend, even while the two are enjoying a romantic night out at the gay club, or throw lye in the face of an adorable young man, this kid is straight out of Dynasty. And we like that.

Our buds over at After Elton had a chance to chat with Gustin about his new role and what it is like to play gay on Glee.

"It wasn’t a deal breaker, obviously," Gustin says of Sebastian's sexuality. "I was excited to play a gay character because I’m not gay in real life, and it’s fun to do stuff that’s different from you. And I mean there was absolutely more of a stigma ten or fifteen years ago, but I think it was also being gay wasn’t as accepted in our society. Now it’s something that’s just, in my world anyway, incredibly accepted. I know it’s not throughout the country, but as an actor for any type of role you step into you don’t want to be pigeonholed into anything."
