It's easy to feel helpless when searching for a way to fight back against the rise of white supremacists and neo-Nazis, but there's a suggestion going viral on social media that is perfect in its simplicity—glitter.

Tumblr user GeekGirlSmash wrote a post suggesting a peaceful way to disrupt the racist rallies and she makes some pretty good points to back up her plan.

"Throwing glitter at these fucks will make them look absolutely ridiculous, and one of the best ways to fight groups like these is to make them into a joke," she wrote. "No one is going to take people screaming 'blood and soil' while covered in glitter seriously. It’d be hilarious."

She also points out that glitter is cheap, gets everywhere and is difficult to remove, branding the bigots as the rotten racists they are.

The post has since been shared thousands of times by queer activists who are elated with the thought of getting to break out their glitter collection while simultaneously combatting Nazis.

Once the post started gaining traction, there were obviously haters trying to explain that glitter won't stop these maniacs. But yes, GeekGirlSmash was well aware of that, and crafted another post to explain why "it’s not 'teehee glitter,' it’s weaponized absurdity."
