Sparkle Like A Rainbow Unicorn At The Glitter Run
Glitter and be gay indeed.
This Sunday, August 20, thousands will take to the streets of Hollywood for the inaugural Glitter Run, a 5k fun run/walk where participants will be "gently coated" in seven colors of non-toxic washable glitter.
A celebration of diversity that welcomes people of all ages, sizes, and abilities, the non-competitive run is also a fundraiser benefiting the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
The run, which kicks off at Hollywood and Highland Boulevards, will take participants within view of iconic landmarks like the Hollywood sign, the Chinese Theatre, and the Capital Records Building.
By the time you reach the finish line, you’ll look like a living, shimmering Pride flag. You'll also receive a commemorative medal, a Glitter Run towel, an official Glitter Run t-shirt or tank top, and free admittance to the Dazzling Glitter Dance Party, which promises Bloody Marys, mimosas, food trucks, and DJs Joe Gauthreaux and Woody Woodbeck.
The Glitter Run entry fee is $85, but kids 12 and under run for free.
This is an event you won't soon forget—especially when you're still finding glitter in your private crevices for weeks.
