"Golden Girls" Action Figures Debuting At New York Comic Con

"We almost weren't prepared for the excitement," says Funko's Mark Robben.

The Golden Girls hail from Miami, but our favorite sitcom foursome will be making a big splash in New York City this week: Funko is releasing brand new action-figure versions of Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sofia at the New York Comic Con, running October 6 to 9.

Sold together, the four figures are a convention exclusive, though Funko recently released a line of Golden Girls bobbleheads that are widely available.

More than 20 years after the show went off the air, Golden Girls fandom is bigger than ever: A GG puppet parody has opened off-Broadway and New Yorkers will soon be able to get cheesecake at Rue's Cafe, which will include memorabilia and recipes from the late actress.

"The response to our Golden Girls products has been wild," Funco's marketing director Mark Robben told ABC News.

"We almost weren't prepared for the excitement. We created these as a passion project initially, and were blown away when it started trending on social media."

Adding that the show was "ahead of its time," Robben says he expects the figures will sell out fast.
